Buy Now, Resell Later – Can Somebody Tell Me What Exactly I Have To Do?

Glad you asked! Of course, your goal would be to purchase a home that you can resell for a good value in the future. You want a home that will be attractive to buyers in the future and there are a lot of things to consider. When you’re looking to purchase a home, check to see if some or all of these features are offered.

Location of the home. Is the home situated in a neighborhood with at least solid access to civilization and education?

When looking for a home, you have to be concerned about the crime rate figures. What are the crime rate statistics? Is the neighborhood safe?

Is there anticipated growth for the areas such as: new schools, stores, future planned homes? How will this affect you in the future?

For best chances of successfully reselling in the future, you would want to look for homes with a square footage of at least 1,200.

Try to filter out your shortlist of prospective homes by limiting your search to three-bedroom houses. This could help improve your prospects for reselling your home in the future.

You may want to look at whether or not the home should have one or two stories. Two story homes are the most feasible choice for younger buyers or families. However, the elderly or individuals with certain disabilities may want to purchase a home that is a single story.

If you are considering buying a home that has a pool in it, this might actually be more harm than help if you are going to sell it in a few years. Pools are quite overrated, honestly, when it comes to added value, and the maintenance costs can be steep!

Your prospective home would ideally have a two-car garage, or even larger. This is in no way superfluous especially for families who drive two or more vehicles – and there are a lot of them!

The number of bathrooms is also important. Getting a home with at minimum of two bathrooms is a must when purchasing a home for future resell.

Your home must have a fireplace or air conditioning at least, or some form of general heating system.

You should see the forest for the trees whenever purchasing a new home, meaning you should consider your prospects for reselling. If for one reason or another you have to sell your home, the least expectation should be for you to break-even and sell it for the original purchase price. Isn’t it much better if you can profit from your sale – of course it is! Just be wise when you’re purchasing your home, it’s an investment in your future!
